After moving to Edmonton from Winnipeg to attend Taylor Seminary in 2009, I grew to love Zion as a place for worship, service and fellowship. It was my privilege to serve as a student intern during my time in school (2010-12) and the Associate Pastor following graduation (2012-16). In my current role as Senior Pastor, I am blessed to shepherd a congregation that really seems to understand and live out what it means to love and care for one another. It's a joy to work alongside men and women, both young and not-as-young, who value preaching & worship that is centred on the cross and rooted in the Word, and service & hospitality that is intentional and genuine.
Amy and I were married in 2010, and we have two beautiful daughters, Magnolia and Adaline.
As a high school student in BC, I received a heart for student ministry. I moved to Calgary to study Youth Ministry at Ambrose University (2008-12), and it was here I met my wife, Julianne. We were married in 2010 and have two boys, Samuel and Ezra, and a little girl, Adalia.
In the spring of 2018, we happily accepted a call to ministry here at Zion. With great joy, I minister to children, students, young professionals, families, and volunteer leaders. I desire to see young men and women grow in their obedience to God and his Word, discover the way He uniquely made them, and walk with Him wherever He may lead.
Hobbies: board games, sports, escape rooms, movies, wood-working, and reading.
In 2002 our family transitioned back to Canada after 15 years of ministry in the Philippines. A year later God graciously gave me the opportunity to serve here as pastor. My wife Jennell has been my true partner in life and ministry for 30 plus years. I am grateful to be part of a church that values community and where most bandwagons pass by unnoticed. In my downtime, I read, walk, listen to my diverse music collection, work my garden and occasionally dabble in photography. Preferred coffee: dark roast, low acid, aeropressed.
I have been attending Zion since 2007 and started working in the office in April 2014. I moved to Edmonton from Vermilion, AB in 2003 to attend Taylor University College; it took a few years before I discovered Zion and started attending here. In addition to working in the office, I am also involved in music on Sunday mornings and serving in the youth ministry. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family & friends, exploring the world of photography, and getting away to the mountains when I have the chance.

I grew up attending the Baptist church in Onoway where my parents were in ministry, and since then I would say that churches have always played an important and grounding role in my life. The people have been my family, supporting and praying for me, the buildings have been a source of refuge, peace and safety. Needless to say I’m very pleased to be on staff part-time with Zion Baptist and assisting the busy ministries and volunteers of this church!
My husband Adrian and I have been married for 3 years and are new residents of Edmonton’s South side. We love to read, take walks, visit our friends and families, play videogames, board games and check out different restaurants (self-professed foodies). I also love arts/crafting, puzzles, music, and have a soft spot for live shows of any kind. My goal is to go back to school for Music Ministry and Worship Arts in the near future!
In 2006, I immigrated to Canada and had the privilege of being part of the Zion community. I enjoy serving together with my wife in the janitorial service of the building for a year now. I am a simple man who loves the Lord Jesus Christ.
